How to keep the same face in every AI picture
Why AI faces drift from one picture to the next, and the steps that keep one character the same in every picture and video.
Ask most AI image tools for "the same woman" twice and you get two different women. The tool reads your words fresh every time, and words are not a face. A face stays the same only when the tool works from pictures of it.
The short answer
Make the character once, from pictures, and reuse those pictures every time. Do not describe her face in the prompt again. Describe the scene, the outfit and the light instead.
Why faces drift
- Words change meaning between runs. "Blonde, green eyes, 25" fits millions of faces, so each run picks another one.
- One reference photo is not enough. A single picture shows one angle and one light. Turn her head and the tool has to guess.
- Big changes pull the face. Strong light, an unusual angle or a very different style all move the face more than a new outfit does.
How to do it in Sable
- Open Characters and press Create a character.
- Choose her traits: age, features, hair, eyes and body, or start from a type and change what you like.
- A face is made. Press Not her for another, until one is right, then approve it. Take your time here. Everything after follows this face.
- Sable makes a set of pictures of her, from close up to full body. Keep the ones that look like her and regenerate any that do not.
- Press Train. It takes about an hour and you get an email when she is ready. After that she can also be used for explicit pictures.
- In the Image or Video tool, type @ and pick her. Then describe only the scene: where she is, what she wears, the light and how close the camera is.
The same character works with every engine in Sable, so you can try one idea on Seedream, Nano Banana or FLUX and keep the best, and it is still her.
Tips that keep her the same
- Write the prompt like a photo caption: "waist up, sitting on a balcony at sunset, white linen shirt". Leave her face out of it.
- Say where the light comes from. It changes a picture more than anything else.
- When you find a picture you like, open it and use Another take for more like it.
- For a whole set of photos at once, use Batch: drop in up to 20 photos and each one is recreated with her face, keeping its pose, outfit and place.
- Check every result at full size. If one drifts, run it again rather than keeping a picture that is nearly her.
What it costs
You pay per picture, with no subscription. Seedream 5.0 Pro, the engine most people pick, costs 15 credits a picture, which is $0.15. Every button shows its price before you press it.
